Certain traditions are worth keeping. Certain innovations are worth introducing. The driving concept behind this villa is to honor traditional Chinese architectural experiences with modern minimalist spatial concepts.

 

To achieve the minimalist effect a limited material pallet was used including stone, bamboo and views. The importance of thresholds in Chinese architecture is expressed by the use of dividing walls with large openings that lead to unique spaces that clearly read as part of the whole.
